More YouTube Seekers
As a follow-up to my Seekers/”Georgy Girl” post and YouTube link (HERE), if you are a fan you’ll be pleased to discover the amazing selection of their performances on the ubiquitous video site. Some are still photo slide slows cut to CD tracks, but most are films and videos of them performing live in their hey-day. Others are excellent interviews and live performances from the 1993 reunion tour.
Speaking of YouTube, many fans know that The New Seekers (the group Keith Potger created) hit it big with their “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing” commercial jingle for Coca-Cola. But The original Seekers did their part for the Atlanta soft drink giant too. (Check it out HERE). With the The Kingston Trio acting as pitchmen for Seven-Up, and The Limeliters and The Seekers flogging Coke, who says folk music didn’t help move the merchandise?
